Last Sunday the ORC club run was held at Kinross Forrest on a beautiful morning for running. As the field made its way up the common first hill, the fragrant smell of a dead animal near the track, kept everyone motivated to keep moving on. In the testing 2km run Bailey Harvey was the quickest to finish in the solid time of 11:09 to finish clear of the improving Busta Connolly and Hugh Daintith. Of the ladies Busta’s mum Tanya, was the fastest with a 13:05 run as she finished ahead of Donna Irwin and Joy Harvey who registered the equal second fastest ladies time.

JackDaintith (22:11) led the way over the difficult 4.8km distance, while Mitch Essex with the assistance of Baxter came in a close second and Alex Irwin finished strongly for third place. Again, Amber Rich (22:52) was out in front, of the girls, with Katherine Lindsay beating mum, Kerrie Lindsay, into second place.

Nathan Sutherland (37:04) was a clear winner in the 9km, with Paul Centofanti running into second and the course master Mike Cooper third. In form Ursula Wilson (43:30) also finished clear of her competitors in the long run, with Dani Syme finishing second and Kim Jarvis not far away in third spot. Tony Fitzpatrick was fourth in the 4.6km run in 25:15 and took out the overall win on the day.

On Wednesday Night Mitch Williamson was again the quickest of the 90 strong field, doing his 3 laps in a quick 9:27. Jack Daintith and Mike Cooper were the next quickest. Ursula Wilson (12:14) was the quickest of the girls finishing ahead of Ella Lamrock and Madeleine Owens. Jamie Corcoran ran a strong 14:41 to be the overall winner on the night.

Good luck to all competing from the Orange area.

A message from our safety officer Mr Moss after last Sunday’s run. Could all members please consider the safety of all, including themselves, when parking at runs and especially at Kinross Forrest. At Kinross there are ample off road places to park around the corner from the Kinross Forrest Road entrance, so there is no need to take the risk of parking on the edge of the Lower Lewis Ponds Road.

There are club running singlets available for purchase. Please see Bill, Jane or Graham to find out more.

Tony Fitzpatrick was the Sunday handicap winner at Kinross Forest.
