EDITORIAL REPORT FOR SATURDAY’s CWD July 10th, 2021

As per the newest update of the COVID rules, we will still continue wearing our masks before and after you complete your run on a Wednesday and Sunday. Thank you to everyone so far for following along with the government advice/rules.

Last Sunday, in the freezing icy winds 41 members ventured out to Pinnacle for some running and walking.

The leading club members in each distance were:

3km
Female – Claire Gates 19:14, Kim Roweth 20:37, Grace Goodlock 21:30.
Male – Mike Cooper 18:18, Ryder Brown 18:24, Gary Taylor 23:19.

7km
Female – Alison Spurway 43:58, Kate Thornton 45:03, Samantha Pluymers 47:42.
Male – Mark Thomas 33:05, James Thomas 45:29, David Craig 48:41.

10km
Female – Bec Davis 53:29, Ursula Wilson 1:01:18, Kim Jarvis 1:17:38.
Male – Jack Daintith 45:23, Baxter Brown 47:19, Hunter Brown 50:05.

On Wednesday, we had 50 masked members come to Elephant Park to run or walk around the track completing 1, 2 or 3 laps.
Top three males were Jack Daintith 9:55, Peter Finlay 10:34 and Iain Mclean 10:50.
Completing the top three ladies were Nicola Blore 13:19, Courtney Hayes 13:23 and Amy Robinson 13:52.

Personal bests were recorded this week by Kim Roweth knocking off 21 seconds getting down to 16:45 and Colette Robinson taking off 33 seconds to achieve 17:46.

Congratulations to our achievement medal receivers this week: Yonneka, Madeline, Hamish and Benjamin Hill all achieving 25 club runs. A big congratulations to Anthony Daintith who achieved 900 club runs this week.

Tomorrow’s run is at Botanic Gardens. The distance of the loop is 1.6km and you have the choice to do 1 to 6 laps of this course. Also putting out a reminder, that we are still operating under COVID-19 regulations. On Wednesday’s, timing begins at 4pm and will cease at 5:15pm. On Sunday’s, you must start between 8.30am and 9am. On both days still encouraging members to arrive, run and depart.

The safety guideline for this week is to ensure you are making every effort to give way to the members of the public using the track.
