EDITORIAL REPORT FOR SATURDAY’s CWD July 24th, 2021
By Kinisha Roweth

Unfortunately, last Sunday was our last run for the next 7 days now as we headed into our COVID lockdown. I hope everyone is being safe and staying happy.

Last Sunday, 42 members conquered the weather and the hills to regain acquaintances with Emu Swamp Road. Despite some distances being slightly modified due to the weather bringing some trees down across the track, great runs were still had.

It was also great to see so many members come together to help a slightly embarrassed Nicola out after getting her car bogged.

The leading club members in each distance were:

3.2km
Female – Alicia Anlezark 17:30, Claire Gates 21:30, Belle Fisher 22:06.
Male – Chris Pooley 14:48, Gary Taylor 24:55, Brian Penrose 1:10:00.

4.6km
Female – Jess Pooley 25:26, Kate Thornton 28:15, Lydia Parker 29:05.
Male – Peter Finlay 19:13, Mark Thomas 20:56, Mike Cooper 23:41.

6.4km
Male – Gareth Thomas 37:55.

7.8km
Female – Jane Fairgrieve 53:28.
Male – Andrew McArdle 59:22.

9.2km
Female – Nicola Blore 47:41, Kim Jarvis 57:27, Anna Daintith 1:02:51.
Male – Nathan Sutherland 36:11, Jack Daintith 37:50, Warwick Blackwell 42:14.

As we were not able to hold our Wednesday run, there are no results or pb’s for this week.

Tomorrow run is cancelled due to the lockdown. Hopefully all going well, we are out of lockdown and able to hold our Wednesday run this week coming. Keep an eye on Facebook and emails to find out.

The safety guideline for this week is follow the stay-at-home order so we can get back to our runs as soon as possible.

Continue to check the website, Facebook and watch your emails for more information on all club activities and news.
