Many Runners Club members escaped the snow and icy cold conditions to compete in the great City2Surf event. Some fantastic results were achieved with Connor Whiteley leading the way, with a mind blowing time of 46:40 to finish 23rd overall in an outstanding performance. Others to run in the event that I know of were:

Brad Simmons 58:18, Jarod Sullivan 1:01:14, Frank Ostini, 1:01:14, Tony Syme 1:02:37, Mike Cooper 1:04:57, Lily Craig 1:13:32, David Craig 1:13:43, Kim Dale 1:14:47, Jessie Dean 1:18:24, Abby Dean 1:18:26, Estelle Dean 1:18:27, Matt Dean 1:18:27, Dani Syme 1:19:24, Simon Lun 1:24:37, Pam Fullgrabe 1:25:29, Michelle Whiteley 1:31:33, Ati Sadr 1:44:58, Tilly Thornton 1:45:08,  Annabelle Hosie 1:45:08, Kate Thornton 1:45:07, Grace Hosie 1:45:09, Michael O’Mara 1:52:59, Mindy Smith 1:57:12, Lyn O’Mara 2:09:59 and Fiona Montgomerie 2:12:08.

 

Battling the snow and icy conditions just to get to Stagecoach Road for Sundays Club run, 20 very committed members took on the challenge of running the various distances. The run was self-timed, but a big thankyou to Michael Sharp for waiting for all to finish to record their times.

Justine Tarleton did the 2km in 17:44.

Lyn Rummery 21:40 and Craig Penrose 18:00 completed the 3km run with Lyn being awarded the overall handicap winner.

5km finishers were: Jess Quinn 40:00, Jai Anlezark 24:45 and Kim Anlezark 27:19.

Iin the 8.5km Finishers were: Females – Bec Davis 50:56 and Kelly Jurd 54:45.

Males – Daryl Roweth 44:23, Daniel Roth 48:02, Richard Hogg 48:19, John Betts 50:44, Brian Sharp 60:02 and George Hogg 64:17.

Stepping up to the 12km run was: Leanne Corcoran 58:14, Iain McLean 55:33, Mitch Essex 58:49, Joel Broadfoot 59:07, Michael Kennard 65:00 and Noel Annett 67:14..

 

Wednesday night’s club run at Elephant Park saw numbers again around 54 runners and walkers. Fastest runners today were Jack Munckton 10:41, Hadden Bennett 11:19 and hot on his heels Hugh Daintith 11:21.

Leanne Corcoran 11:26, was not too far behind the first three with Liz Simpson 11:34 also hot on their footsteps while Carissa Hickey was third fastest female in 12:05.

Lily Broughton ran a 34s Personal Best in running 15:39 for her 3 laps to be the overall handicap winner.

Other PB’s were ran by Emily Palmer 31s, Jack Munkton 53s, Charlie Brown 11s and Oscar Meek 41s.

 

The Sunday Club run is at Spring Creek Dam starting at 9am with 2.4km, 4.8km,7.2km and 9.6km.

 

This weekend will see some of our club members competing at the Mudgee Running.
