Last Sunday a number of club members travelled across to Mudgee for their running festival and the third event on the Regional Distance Running Championships calendar. In beautiful running conditions some great results were achieved with Iain McLean 1:22:00 and Tim Murphy 1:22:35 leading the charge finishing second and third respectively overall in the half marathon. Also finishing on the podium in the half marathon was Ursula Wilson 1:35:06 who was second female and all three were first in their respective age categories.

Lachlan Ross was outstanding in the 5km distance finishing third overall in the smart time of 19:07. Not to be out done Nicole Williamson (first in age) 20:35 and Liz Simpson 21:08 also picked up podium placings behind the first placed female in the 5km race.

Other members to compete were:

Marathon – Gareth Thomas 3:47:18, Scott Bebbington 4:28:38 and John Rukundu 4:28:38.

Half Marathon – Daryl Roweth 1:39:22, Luisa Sims 1:52:10 and Kinisha Roweth 2:01:50.

10km – Otto Rohwedder (Mike Cooper) 46:03 First in age.

5km – Hadden Bennett 20:29, Warwick Blackwell 21:18 (first in age), Alicia Ross 21:49 (first in age), Ryan Clark 22:41, Charlie Brown 23:01, Cameron Ross 24:51, David Ross 24:53, Alex McLean 33:47, Trent Brown 34:28, Cameron McLean 48:54 and Keagan Wilson 1:03:20.

 

The 65 club members who attended the Spring Creek Dam Sunday Club run enjoyed a great morning of running with some fast times set over the various distances with the first three finishers being:

2.4km female – Lucy Jurd 13:37, Laura Primrose 14:01 and Claire Gates 16:43.

Male – Jack Daintith 9:59, Edward Farquharson 19:35 and Gary Penrose 19:49.

4.8km female – Amber Rich 20:50, Milla Jurd 23:34 and Claire Blair 27:10.

Male – Jack Munkton 19:45, Mitch Essex 20:33 and Hugh Daintith 21:28.

7.2km  female – Karen Mudge 40:36.

Male – Tony Fitzpatrick 37:41 and Brian Rix 46:08.

9.6km female – Alison Spurway 55:16, Kelly Jurd 56:41 and Kim Jarvis 60:27

Male – Brad Simmons 41:36, Ian Spurway 42:44 and Anthony Daintith 44:47

 

Wednesday night’s club run at Elephant Park saw 51 runners and walkers. Fastest runners were Mitch Williamson 10:18, Jack Munckton 10:28 and Hugh Daintith 11:27.

Leanne Corcoran 11:40 was fastest lady ahead of Liz Simpson 12:16 and Lily Craig in 12:49.

James West ran a great 10s personal best while Ruby Turnbull ran an impressive 13:53 to secure the overall handicap win.

Marathon man Michael Kennard was recognised for completing 50 club runs.

The Sunday Club run is at Berrilee Road starting at 9am with 4km, 8.1km and 11km.

 

This weekend will see some of our club members competing at the Dubbo Stampede.
