A special day last Sunday at Bargwanna Road, with the running of the Wayne Stewart Memorial Club run. With 62 members heading out to the Gosling Creek area, including Wayne’s son Sam, to complete one of Wayne’s favourite club run courses.  

The leading runners over the various distances were:

3km – female – Milla Jurd 15:38, Kelly Jurd 17:42, Justine Tarleton 31:36.

Male – Trevor Jones 20:52, Brian Sharp 35:40, Cameron Ross 36:30.

5km – female – Leanne Corcoran 25:41, Alicia Ross 25:41, Alison Spurway 28:53.

Male – Jack Daintith 19:39, Mitch Essex 21:54, Noel Annett 25:11.

8km – Male – Russell Tym 54:59, Brian Rix 59:55.

10km – female – Ayako Kusui 53:50, Kim Jarvis 1:03:03, Jane Fairgrieve 1:03:04. 

Male – Iain McLean 40:55, Brad Simmons 47:22, Anthony Daintith 49:53.

 

At the ANSW Cross Country event, Connor Whiteley competed in the open 5km distance and finished 21st in a high calibre field with an outstanding time of 15:56.

 

At Elephant Park on Wednesday night 65 starters did a lap or 3 with Personal Bests being recorded by 2 runners with James Littlejohn claiming an amazing 7m11s PB and Kate Harris notched a 56s PB.

At the speedy end of the runners Mitch Williamson 9:56 edged out Rikky Bangert 9:59 with Jack Daintith 10:16 not far away in third spot. New member Alexandra Tooth made her presence felt with a scintillating fastest female time of 11:39 while Ayako Kusui and Lily Craig 13:21 finished with the same time to be the next best.

Also on Wednesday Anna Daintith completed her 700th run while young Madison Bolton has quickly amassed 75 runs. 

 

This Sundays run at Clergate School with 3, 5, 7.5 and 10km distances to be set by Magic Mike Cooper. 

The timing mats will be ready for runners to start from 8.30 – 9am with members encouraged to essentially “arrive, run and go home” – minimise socialising.

There will be a suspension of race briefs/announcements/presentations at the moment – this will be done via email and Facebook.
