Another great Sunday run last weekend at Elephant Park with the Endeavour Oval loop attracting almost 90 starters to hit the track. Doing the shorter 1 lap course (2.6km) for a change, Iain McLean (10:01) saw off the challenge of the slightly younger Jack Daintith and Noah Lamrock. Of the girls it was indeed the girls that did excel, with Charlotte Simmons (11:03) continuing her stunning form to outrun Lily Craig and Emily Sammut.

Charlotte’s dad Brad was in a class of his own over the 5.2km course as he finished in the impressive time of 19:44. Jackson Boucher ran well to secure second place ahead of Gareth Thomas. Amber Rich dominated the ladies field similarly to Simmons with a strong 22:06 time putting her second to Simmons overall and a comfortable winner over improving young runners, Katherine Lindsay and Jessie Dean.

After working his way from near the rear of the field Peter Mueller (31:53) was 6 seconds faster than Mr Consistency Mark Chapman in the 7.8km run. Joel Kitto also worked his way through the runners to finish a strong third. Estelle Dean (32:46) held off Ursula Wilson  and Kinisha Roweth was third, in the ladies long run.

Hannah Lincoln has been a consistent performer of late and has been rewarded with the overall win on the day as she completed the short run in 17:59

On Wednesday Night at Elephant Park around 139 runners and walkers invaded the track and some fantastic results were evident as can be seen in the list of Personal Best’s (PB’s) recorded. Mitch Williamson put on another show or pace with a scintillating 8:32 for the 3 laps while Josh Dunn won the day with a huge improvement to get down to 16:35. There may have to be an investigation there.

Wednesday’s PB’s were:

Paddy McMillan 1m:49s, Angus Petersen 3m:08s, Cleopatra Nam 3s, Jameson Monks 17s, Eidan Monks 1m:23s, Greg Blanch 7s, Ursula Wilson 13s, Thomas Pell 1m:05s, Kinisha Roweth 24s, Molly Dean 33s, Ava Petersen 15s, Busta Connolly 7s, Josh Dunn 13m:06s, Jessica Clowes 1m:24s, Thomas Lincoln 1m:05s, Fred Bangert 33s, Arabella Harvey 11s, Julie Swain 4s, Helena White 22s, Andrew McArdle 4m:39s, Joy Harvey 48s, Mark Harvey 8s, Kerry Bennett 26s.
