Last Sunday, Orange Runners Club had its regular Sunday run at Member Basil Baldwin’s farm, where 59 runners had the choice of 3K, 5K, 8K and 11.5K routes. The first 3 finishers by gender for each distance are as follows:

3K – Female: Kate Harris (17:02), Annabelle Hosie (19:06) and Fiona Littlejohn (20:00) Male: Cameron Ross (15:04), Michael Sharp (16:11) and Freddie Littlejohn (19:49).

5K – Female: Alicia Ross (24:13), Ella Lamrock (24:16) and Kerrie Lindsay (29:23) Male: Noah Lamrock (22:12), Lachlan Ross (22:13) and Hugh Daintith (23:01).

8K – Male: Edward McLean (41:07), Pete Mueller (41:54) and Russell Tym (47:13).

11.5K (6.4k) – Female: Rachel Wilkins (68:43), Alison Spurway (70:46) and Kim Jarvis (76:29). Male: Anthony Daintith (52:38), Nic Carney (56:46) and Ian Spurway (56:50)

A big thumbs up to all who participated, Nic Carney was declared the winner.

On Wednesday, 75 competitors took part in the regular 3 lap handicap event, under warm conditions. The fastest ladies were Alicia Ross (12:28), Ella Lamrock (12:38) and Lily Craig (12:42). The fastest men were Iain McLean and Anthony Daintith (11:15) and Michael Kennard (11:49). PBs were achieved by Will MacCauley (31s), Anna Daintith (12s), David Aseguinolaza (37s), Rachel Wilkins (14s), Michael Kennard (1s) and Richard Eggleston (5s). Well done to all who took part, David Aseguinolaza was declared the winner.

This Sunday sees the club back at Orange Botanic Gardens at 9am, where members can try one to six laps of the scenic 1.6km course. This coming Wednesday sees the regular 3-lap handicap event at 5pm. As we leave daylight savings, please remember to put your clock one hour back to avoid being late!

Club members should be aware of the AGM to be held after the Sunday Run on 22 April at Elephant Park (Approximately starting just after 10am). All positions are open, for members to put their own mark on running our fantastic club.
